The Whitsunday Islands are made up of 74 amazing islands, on the beautiful tropical coast of Queensland, Australia. Right in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, a visit to the Whitsundays is a feast for the senses. The stunning natural landscapes of coast and islands are dotted with secluded beaches. Whitehaven Beach is the jewel of the Whitsundays. Catamaran, sailing boats and speedboats depart from Airlie Beach several days a week. I got there after a 2 weeks camper trip from Brisbane. The shorter way would be from Cairns.
I visited this beautiful place twice.
WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS – SAILING
the “Whitsunday Adventurer” is a not to big catamaran. This catamaran suits approximately 10 people and it has an amazing SPA. Immagine to admire the sunset in the middle of the sea while you relax in the SPA. As it has blue lights, at night it attracts also dolphins. As this catamaran has just a small group, you have the possibility to see the sunrise straight above the magnificent WHITEHAVEN BEACH just on your own. To wake up at 04.30 in the morning, never was so easy and exciting. The snorkeling is fantastic as you will have the chance to swim with big napoleon fish and dolphins. I recommend to wear a wetsuit as there is the possibility to encounter jelly fish, but no worries, the guides told us that they never saw them.
